Answer
I am good at doing math.
I feel like its easy.But sometimes I feel like its boring.
I wouldn't feel anything because even if I'm good at it, I don't like doing it.

Chapter 1
1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at least two more.
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict.

Answer
One of the conflict is that Tao is an orphan. There was a hungry wolf so Tao fed it with one of his rabbit so he was late when he got back to the village. One prediction for his conflicts is that the woman that raise him can be his guardian. Another resolution for Tao's other problem is that one day Tao become best friend with that wolf he fed.


Chapter 2
What two important events happen in this chapter?

Answer
One important event was that the wolf came back to him. And this time the wolf was really hungry. But Tao have no food for it.
Another important event is that there was a bone stuck deeply in its upper jaw. So thats why the wolf refuse to eat to eat and thats why it was so hungry and thin.

Chapter 3
1. What do Tao and Ram learn to do together?
2. What decision does Tao tell Volt?
3. Look at Tao's decisions and actions from Volt's perspective. Pretend you are Volt. Write a first person paragraph explaining how you feel.

Answer
They learn how to hunt together. Tao told Volt that they should have a wolf dog. I would be mean to Tao because Tao isn't doing anything and I have to to feed Tao when he isn't helping. Also I would be mean to Tao because his parents there could be something in the past about Tao's parent that I hated so thats why I hate him. If i also think that wolf are demons and evil spirit then i would be really mad. I'll just let Tao do whatever he wants and if he dies I wouldn't care. I would do that because I have a big responsibility so I can't let something like that stop me.

What Kala says about Tao's mother being caring is true. She is caring because she fought back against other people when she was protecting Tao. She did not give up and wouldn't let them get him.She is also caring because she love the nature. She make things of what she finds. Like she makes bracelet, bones, and necklace of bones and even rocks. Thats why Kala says she is caring.

Chapter 5
1. Which two animals does Tao try to draw?
2. Which is easier for him and why?

Answer
Tao tried to draw a horse and a wolf. An image of Ram. Drawing the wolf was easier for him because he has something to look at and draw.

Chapter 6
1. Graybeard realizes that Tao has broken two taboos of his clan. What are they?
2. Which taboo doesn't he know about yet?
3. Graybeard describes Volt differently than we have. What aspects of Volt's character is Graybeard acknowledging?

Answer
One of the taboo Graybeard realize that he broke was hunting in the forbidden land, the Slough. The other taboo he broke is hunting with a wolf dog. The taboo Graybeard haven't know that Tao has broke was that Tao was drawing on the cave. Graybeard describes about Volt differently because he said that Volt is a good person.

Chapter 7
Write your reaction to the last paragraph in the chapter. Do you agree or disagree with Graybeard? Is what he says true for those times, but not now? Or, is the reverse true: was it not true then, but true now?

Answer
I agree with Graybeard. I agree with him because it was taboo. And Volt or the other hunter could kill Tao for that. And just because you love to do something so much, it still give you no right to break the rules. What Graybeard says was true that time. But not now.

Chapter 8
An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.
The author examines this theme in a stone age setting. Imagine a similar situation today.
What situation did you imagine?

They should because they should do what they want. They worked really hard on their path so they shouldn't stop when they almost reach their goal.

Chapter 9
Why do you think Graybeard changed his mind?
What does this tell you about his character?

Answer
I think he changed his mind because the other time he was mad so he didn't wanted to teach Tao. It tells me he is nice because he let Tao paints and now he is going to teach Tao. But sometimes he can be pretty mean.

Chapter 10

Answer
A pack of moving mammoths.Tao was almost killed he was stab and was thrown to the floor.

Chapter 11
Do you think Graybeard is a good teacher? Why?
Would you like to have been taught a skill by him? Why?

Answer
Yes I think he is a good teacher. I wouldn't want to be teach by a person like him because when I mess up then he would just yell at me. And that would put lots of pressure on me so I dont want to mess up. But then I will just mess up some more because of the pressure.

Chapter 12
1. Name some of the ingredients used to make paint. Which surprised you most?
2. Why is Tao afraid at the end of the chapter?

Answer
One of the ingredients that Tao gather that surprise me was the animal fat. What Tao was scared of was that he wqas worried that Graybeard might die.

Chapter 13
1. Even if Ram had succeeded in hunting the deer, do you think it was a good idea of Tao's to "show off" his dog's ability to hunt? Explain.
2. Predict what will happen next. If you've read ahead, invent an alternate scene.
Answer
It was a bad idea because Volt might think that Ram is trying to steal the clan's food. And its bad because Tao would be making Volt look foolish. Tao gets mad and go live with the mountain people.

Chapter 14

Answer
He crossed because he heard Ram howling. Graybeard decided that Tao was going to paint.

Answer
He got lost in the secret cave.

He fells that because so he can prove himself to the mountain people.
